Description: Articulate and enthusiastic Electronics Engineer with excellent customer facing and communication skills required to provide after sales technical support and hands on fault find and repair to a range of niche sector precision products.
Our client has been established for almost 20 years and specialise in the design and manufacture of niche sector electronic safety systems and equipment to their prestigious global customer base, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Electronics Customer Support Engineer to complement their motivated and professional team.
Based near Bicester and reporting to the Technical Director, the successful candidate will primarily perform an electronics after-sales technical support role to customers both remotely and via on-site visits, assisting in the maintenance and software configuration of equipment as well as undertaking fault diagnosis and repair work as required and providing feedback to support on-going in-house development testing.
Whilst ensuring that customers have a single point of contact for after sales support and that they are keeping all of their equipment operational and correctly configured, you will raise any and all faults/issues as they may arise and request the return of all faulty equipment for further investigation and repair, building and maintaining excellent relationships with all customers and acting as an ambassador of the brand at all times.
At quieter times, you will also provide support to the production department, assisting in the build and test of products manufactured in-house and in the annual service of equipment as necessary as well as undertaking general engineering tasks including basic mechanical activities (drilling or cutting aluminium or metal sheeting) and wiring devices, assembling connectors and testing final products before despatch.
To be considered for this genuinely unique and exciting opportunity it is essential that you be able to demonstrate exceptional communication skills at all levels with strong knowledge of electronic technologies (both hardware such as multimeters and oscilloscopes and associated software) and a good understanding of Ethernet networks and fibre optic converters. With the ability to read both mechanical and electrical drawings and understand and create detailed and concise technical reports, you will be proficient in the use of tools associated with wiring with a high level of IT literacy and a proactive and methodical approach to fault identification and resolution.
You will hold a full UK driving licence and a relevant electronic engineering qualification as well as the ability to organise your time efficiently and work both autonomously and as part of a team in an often pressurised environment, and be flexible to travel to customer locations as necessary.
