Description: Articulate, enthusiastic and self motivated Graduate Trainee Systems Support professionals required to provide technical support on a range of automation systems on a Structured Training programme.

Our client is recognized as a UK market leader in the area of automated materials handling system solutions using bespoke in-house software, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth for 2022, they are now looking to recruit two articulate and enthusiastic Graduate Trainee Systems Support professionals to complement their existing support team. 

As a Graduate Trainee, you will be provided with all of the necessary technical training required to allow you to provide support with a range of customer issues and escalate any matters that are unable to be resolved through normal channels, liaising extensively with customers and engineers in the field to ensure a seamless and consistently high-quality service level is maintained at all times.

Products supported are based within a range of customer sites spread the length of the UK and across Europe where they provide business critical support and maintenance remotely from both home and Head Office locations. The solutions “sit” in a Linux environment and interface to a wide range of mechanical equipment and customer host interfaces, and the role of the Graduate Trainee Systems Support professional is to provide support for the automated material handling systems within the Production environment of the extensive customer base through the application of the 24 x 7 x 365 hotline function, whilst working in accordance with the Risk Assessment, Safe System of Work and Workplace Risk Assessments provided by the company.

Successful candidates will, over time, gain the experience and necessary technical skills to undertake a 24 x 7 technical support function, identifying and resolving issues within our Warehouse Management solutions

You will perform basic maintenance activities to ensure that consistent delivery is sustained and assist customers in logging issues within the company ticketing system and ensuring they are then picked up by a Hotline Engineer for investigation and resolution. Other responsibilities will include writing and updating knowledgebase articles, undertaking the resolution of client issues, supporting and assisting the account management team (including site visits as appropriate), managing the escalation procedure of customer issues as and when required and integrating with the complementary Controls support function counterparts to deliver a seamless and enhanced service.

Initially working on a 9-5 Monday to Friday basis during training before transferring across to the full rota shift pattern (and increase in salary) on 6am – 2pm, 2pm to 10pm and 10pm to 6am rotating and 6pm to 6am Saturdays and Sundays (around once a month), the successful candidates will be trained in providing assistance on a range of live issues and provide extensive internal and external customer support to ensure that contractual maintenance and service obligations are maintained.

In an environment committed to the highest levels of health and safety and customer satisfaction, candidates will realistically be qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths) and hold a full clean UK driving licence, as occasional trips to customer sites may be required. You will demonstrate exceptional communication skills at all levels and be comfortable in working both autonomously and as part of a team. You will also possess knowledge and familiarity in at least 4 of the following subject matters: scripting language, Linux Text Processing, SSH access using Keys, Red Hat, JIRA / Incident Tracking Systems, handling 1st and/or 2nd level support calls, Networking (TCP/IP), Server Monitoring and Cyber Security.
