Description: Enthusiastic and self motivated Graduate Trainee Machine Tool Sales Engineer required by our niche sector precision engineering solutions specialist client.
Our established client specialises in the supply of precision CNC controlled special purpose machinery for customers throughout the UK and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an articulate, enthusiastic and self-motivated Graduate Trainee Machine Tool Sales Engineer to complement their professional team and develop their career within this varied and challenging niche engineering sector.
As a blue chip aerospace approved supplier with a dedicated demonstration and training facility, they additionally supply a range of filtration and cooling systems and are looking to recruit a trainee machine tool sales engineer with a solid foundation of mechanics, hydraulics and electronic systems knowledge to liaise extensively with clients in order to understand their precision machining requirements and deliver appropriate solutions as required.
An example of a typical day could include the sales team providing a specific requirement in terms of a component that a client needs to manufacture – and the Graduate Trainee Machine Tool Sales Engineer will develop their communication and mechanical engineering skills to influence the customer decision-making process and use the expansive portfolio of machine solutions available to either produce the component or demonstrate how the component can be made to the client, thus encouraging them to purchase machinery that will allow them to manufacture required components to their specific requirements.
In addition to working on highest precision 5 axis tool and cutter grinding machines, the successful candidate will also support the service engineering team in their day to day activities as required, as well as attending trade fairs and assisting the sales team in demonstrating the capabilities of precision machining solutions including tool and cutter grinding machines as well as undertaking CNC programming activities, with experience of working on MU, Schneeberger, Palmary, Dama, Joen-Lih, Wimmer, Dedtru and Schilling equipment proving distinctly advantageous.
To be considered for this varied and challenging role it is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate at least 12 months commercial experience gained ideally within a technical sales or engineering manufacturing environment and will be eager to develop their career within a technical sales environment. You will hold a full clean UK driving licence and will demonstrate at least an HNC or above in a relevant engineering discipline and possess excellent communication and organisational skills essential in a customer facing service role.
