Description: Experienced CAD Technician confident in the use of Revit and Autodesk Inventor required to create a range of 2D and 3D electrical and mechanical drawings associated with the building services sector.
Our client has been established for almost half a century and specialise in the design, development, manufacture and commission of a range of products and solutions used in the mechanical and electrical building services sector supporting cabling, pipework and HVAC applications, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated CAD Technician to join their established and professional team.
Based in Nottingham and reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be tasked with producing accurate drawings of both mechanical and electrical building services using structural engineering knowledge and experience, and will include roof supports, bracketry, modular frames, pipe support systems and walkways using Autodesk Inventor and interacting with customers models in Navisworks and REVIT from initial design through to fabrication and installation-ready drawings.
Able to handle multiple projects whilst working in an often-pressurised environment, you will be able to understand and visualize customers’ individual needs in order to provide designed and engineered solutions that meet specifications, situational detail, and budget requirements, and will excel in the creation of high quality (right first time) technical 2D & 3D drawings. You will essentially possess excellent communication skills at all levels and will be confident in liaising with the sales team, customers and the workshop to understand and deliver the required elements of the design and will be comfortable in working both autonomously and as part of a team.
Other responsibilities will include delivering detailed manufacturing drawings to the workshop for construction, producing cutting lists of materials internally to the workshop, supplying detailed requirements to 3rd parties for laser cut parts, powder coating or galvanising or other outsourced work as necessary, and supporting the Engineering Manager in performing basic structural load calculations. You will also produce accurate BOM’s to manufacture the design, develop design concepts for new products and innovations and support the building of the automation program and BIM library.
