Description: Experienced senior Automation Solutions Design specialist required to complement and develop the Logistics Systems division through effective design and sales support activities.
Salary: to c£70k + car + £5k bonus + exceptional generous benefits
Our client is a global household name in the materials handling sector and are seeking to recruit an experienced, dynamic and proactive Design Manager to complement their established and highly successful Automation Solutions team.
Able to be based around the Milton Keynes or Warrington areas of the UK and also undertake home-working as required, the newly created role reports in to the Head of Automation Design of the Logistics Systems division and will be responsible for the design from concept to engineering of a range of Automated Material Handling solutions, as well as directly contributing to Divisional Sales and delivering a divisional sales target for the Logistics Systems Business Unit through effective promotion of the solutions portfolio, liaising extensively with customers in a sales capacity and actively developing product sales opportunities from both new and existing customers where available.
You will be tasked with the design and development of Automated Material Handling solutions including ASRS, AGV, Mini load, conveyors, WMS / WCS, and all associated equipment and solutions and assist in the training of the UK sales team as well as providing Technical support for the UK market and liaising with both UK and European Suppliers and both processing and Project Co-ordinating the commercial management of orders.
You will take personal responsibility in developing and maintaining your detailed knowledge of the automated materials handling market and keeping abreast of competitor systems and structures, and will ensure an exhaustive knowledge of the company solutions portfolio is sustained whilst engaging in future product development strategies and initiatives.
Working closely with the business development team you will maintain a detailed activity, prospect and forecast pipeline and will have direct responsibility for the concept and design development of solutions. You will also be involved in the preparation of sales proposals and presentations and in the evaluation of complex data sets used in simulation and systems design. Other responsibilities will include the preparation of detailed technical specifications for handover to technical / project management roles and liaising with client representatives at senior levels.
Committed to the highest levels of service and satisfaction to both internal and external customers, you will demonstrate exceptional communication and influencing skills and be able to convince others of the value of solutions and propositions, and with a strong market focus and sound financial and commercial acumen, will understand the intricacies of the automated materials handling sector and the nature of the competitive environment.
Essentially for success in this varied and extremely challenging role, you will demonstrate an adaptable approach with the ability to manage multiple tasks within a busy solutions environment, and will be a hands on solutions design specialist across a diverse range of systems and projects and able to prioritise effectively whilst promoting continuous improvement from within.
