Our client, established for more than a century and renowned globally as a market leader in their specialist field, is now actively seeking to recruit an experienced, self-motivated, dynamic and proactive Continuous Improvement Project Manager to complement their highly motivated team.
 
Tasked with ensuring the achievement of agreed KPI targets by leading, promoting and instilling a passion for continuous improvement in the daily operation of the business, you will collaborate with colleagues to set direction, prioritise and implement improvement activities and be instrumental in developing local capabilities in applying continuous improvement tools and methods as well as providing coaching support to drive the CI initiatives.
 
In addition to the identification and implementation of ongoing continuous improvement activities, you will also ensure such improvements are sustained and bought into by the team and critically, you will oversee all CI projects, taking responsibility for scoping, project assignment, resource planning, progress tracking and ultimate delivery. Reporting to the Operations Director, the successful candidate will essentially perform the role of CI Project Manager and Engineer, championing a Health & Safety culture and being responsible for all aspects of project management and being accountable for project delivery to agreed cost and time parameters.
 
You will liaise with the senior management team throughout the lifecycle of the project, recommending disposal strategies as appropriate and providing an oversight throughout the lifecycle of the project, ensuring the project(s) are completed on time and delivers to the financial constraints. Skilled in exercising judgment and project management experience to balance priorities and communicate with the teams to meet and exceed project deadlines and commitments, you will keep both internal and external stakeholders informed of projects and progress and demonstrate leadership and teamwork through the active participation of on-site coordination of deliverables in time-sensitive situations in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
 
Other responsibilities will include providing tools, coaching and project leadership to enable plants to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost / productivity improvement and actively participating in cross-functional team efforts to make improvements to products and processes to deliver consistent, annual improvements in performance. You will proactively drive standardization and structure into performance indicators from the shop floor through senior management to identify, prioritize and validate the improvement actions and results, and will assist in the development of plant lean and quality leaders in advanced tools and methodologies for sustainable results, communicating such plans and progress to senior management on a regular basis and partnering with key stakeholders to prioritize and deliver projects on time.
 
You will lead a team of similarly motivated and capable CI professionals who work with operations and functional teams to streamline processes to improve the customer experience, enable profitable growth and become more efficient and will operate as a change agent promoting the use of Lean tools and Strategy Deployment methodology, creating an environment where all employees have increased opportunities to contribute to the success of the business and the security of their future through Continuous Improvement efforts.
 
To be considered for this challenging and diverse opportunity within a recognised market leading organisation, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate at least 5 years previous experience in the use of manufacturing ERP systems and a proven track record in successful project management gained within a manufacturing environment. With the ability to manage the progress and delivery of fixes against timelines and overall cost benefits, you will be qualified to at least HND level or above with Six Sigma Green, Black or Master black belt accreditation and comprehensive process improvement experience in manufacturing using formal lean, strategy deployment and PMP tools.
