Our client has been established for more than half a century and are recognised as market leaders in the manufacture of highest quality adhesive solutions for a range of clients and applications. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now actively seeking to recruit a dynamic, self-motivated and experienced Maintenance Project Engineer to complement their established and professional team.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will assist on a range of engineering projects from concept through to commission, evaluating conceptual ideas and potential technology solutions before documenting and presenting information and ultimately ensuring that all projects are installed in accordance with relevant legislation and best practice.
Tasked with setting and sustaining standards for the operation and maintenance of all new plant and equipment whilst taking into consideration the highest levels of safety, plant availability, product quality and lowest possible levels of both waste and energy usage, you will provide engineering expertise and support as well as ensuring a safe, compliant and secure working environment across all areas of the business.
You will also be responsible for undertaking associated continuous improvement project activities to constantly improve and increase plant availability, and will mentor and train others in the department to assist in such activities as well as developing and progressing their careers with a view to succession planning for the business in the future.
Responsible for carrying out all project work to an on-time-within budget basis and ensuring compliance to relevant standards and legislation at all times, you will be skilled in utilising the best available technology for the development of projects and achieving a “safe-working zero-accidents” H&S standard whilst achieving SMART objectives linked to the overall Business growth Plan.
You will also assist and support the installation of new plant and equipment where required, and utilise the Agility CMMS system to assist in potential future project work, support the RCA process on any issues that may arise on new or existing equipment and proactively seek out improvement projects based on benefits to the business as whole and including safety, quality and reduced cost and waste.
To be considered for this varied and challenging role, ideally suited to a Maintenance Engineering professional looking to progress their own career into a more project oriented environment, the successful candidate will be qualified in a relevant engineering discipline (ideally with an electrical bias) and will posses current qualifications and certifications as well as demonstrating at least 10 years’ experience of working within an engineering / technical manufacturing environment. Excellent communication, influencing and motivational skills are essential for the role, as are the abilities to identify and mitigate potential risks whilst satisfying the requirements of customers and champion continuous improvement.
