Description: Mechanically biased Press Tool field service professional required for our established and highly successful market leading client.
Salary: to £16 per hour + overtime + van + pension + benefits
Our client has been established for almost half a century and are market leaders in the service and support of power press equipment to clients throughout the UK.
As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit a number of experienced, reliable and self-motivated Mechanical Service Engineers to complement their established and professional team.
With the organisation able to provide bespoke solutions from single component replacement to the complete design, build and installation of bespoke production lines for a range of industry sectors, the work is varied to say the least and necessitates proven previous experience of working within the press tool service sector along with a flexible approach to ensure the highest levels of workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Core responsibilities will include undertaking the service, repair, trouble shooting, stripping and rebuilding of mechanical power presses on site at customers works across the country, working on presses from 1 ton – 1000 tons capacity, so experience of pneumatic, hydraulic and lubrication systems is essential for the position.
You will demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the various types of mechanical and friction clutch and brake units as well as a solid mechanical understanding of presses, clearances, setting slides, clutches, brakes etc.
Essentially you will possess a full clean driving licence and will own your own tools, and will be an excellent communicator in a customer facing environment as well as able to accurately complete service sheets, time sheets and service reports as required, and as customers are situated around the UK, you will be flexible to travel and undertake overnight stays if required.
Working on a 39 hr week (7.30am to 4pm Mon to Thu – 7.30am to 3pm Friday), generous overtime is available along with both mobile phone and tool allowances being payable.
