Our client is one of the UK’s market leaders in the area of automated warehousing and materials handling solutions, and they are now looking to recruit a multi discipline maintenance engineer to complement their established and successful team.
The site operates on a 24/7 basis, and with the company priding itself on the high- quality service it provides to customers across the country, it is essential that they now recruit a similarly committed and highly professional multi skilled maintenance engineer team member to ensure equipment is maintained to the highest standards and the systems meet the required demands.
** Whilst core hours for this role are 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday – there could be occasional requirements to assist with the night shift – and this pays an additional 21% shift premium – and essentially needs the flexibility to work occasional nights as required **
Based in Ashby de La Zouch and reporting to the Maintenance Site Supervisor, the successful candidate will work as part of a team tasked with maintaining co-pack area equipment – consisting of carton line systems, stacking and flow wrap equipment, label applicators, conveyors and sortation systems, compactor, printing, wrapping and lifting equipment within a busy automated distribution centre environment.
You will undertake both PPM and reactive breakdown and repair on a range of customer site equipment and other manufacturer's products and systems in full response to the customer's requirements, and will assist in the recovery of pallets and cranes when in error if required by Manager (so you will essentially be comfortable in working at heights on occasions) as well as assisting in ensuring the work areas are kept clean and the customer is communicated with at all times in a clean and concise manner.
You will notify the Site Management on various matters including job sheets and activities carried out and faults found during service, and will liaise regularly to resolve servicing and maintenance issues as well as managing spares usage and reporting as appropriate, and will essentially adhere to all H&S requirements at all times and be flexible to work shifts when potentially required to at short notice (with generous shift premiums applicable of night work is required).
This is an exceptional opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated maintenance engineer to join a team responsible for the ongoing efficiency of materials handling and special purpose machinery within a fast paced automated environment, and to be considered for this exciting and varied position you will demonstrate relevant recognized engineering qualifications, previous experience of working at heights and also of working both autonomously and as part of a team. Additionally, experience of undertaking basic fault find, modification and debug on PLC’s will prove distinctly advantageous.
