Account Development Manager Southern Region (Home based)
Our client is recognized globally as a market leader in the provision of highest quality and efficient Materials Handling and sortation solutions for a diverse range of applications. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of exciting strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit a dynamic, enthusiastic and highly capable Account Development Manager to complement their established and highly successful engineering support function.
Reporting to the engineering support Director, the successful candidate will be tasked with undertaking extensive liaison with customers – really listening to and understanding their technical requirements - and identifying opportunities and solutions to satisfy these requirements and achieve sales targets through additional technical solutions business sales and service contract renewals.
Whilst ensuring that all solutions comply with applicable Health and Safety legislation, you will actively lead presentations and presentations teams, supervising the production of proposal documents and cost information and utilising your industry contacts to obtain critical market intelligence (including competitor, customer and supplier information to enable the business to tailor its approach accordingly).
You will create accurate sales forecasts, progress reports and other information regarding sales activity in the agreed format and a structured account management plan (Goldsheet) for each major account that addresses key sales and account development targets, whilst also proactively undertaking the “Relationship Management” of an existing portfolio of approximately 15 key accounts, where contract values range from thousands to multi million pound solutions.
Essentially you will understand and communicate the business structure and key relationships required in each account within the portfolio and play a key role in defining and managing the communication routes between customer and the client, and you will provide the key management escalation path for each account in the portfolio for all operational and commercial customer issues. Other activities will include Renewal Management (encompassing the issue of renewals in due time, negotiation, securing and handing over to delivery function) as well as extensions to existing contracts (quoting and negotiating increased labour or equipment requirements) as well as regular Account Management visits to site as required.
In addition to account management activities, you will also undertake elements of additional business development with the client portfolio in order to achieve order and profitability targets and will proactively manage the sales pipeline for each account whilst providing potential leads identified to the wider business development team as appropriate. Other account development manager activities will include securing new contracts, liaison with internal project teams, and preparing detailed and commercially attractive proposals before issuing and negotiating with customers to secure contracts relating to new business, enhancements, modifications and upgrades.
