Description: Mechanically biased multi skilled field service professional required by our market leading automation and materials handling solutions provider.

Salary: to £24k pa + generous OTE, plus profit share scheme, generous benefits, Company pension contribution, 25 days holiday and expenses.

As a result of continuous success from an ongoing programme ensuring strategic growth, our client is offering a fantastic opportunity for a field service engineer to join their busy team. Our client has been established for over 25 years and specialise in the design, manufacture, installation and aftercare of bespoke to modular automation and materials handling solutions. Providing a service to the market leading industries from pharmaceutical, distribution, recycling, baggage handling, food suppliers and many more varied industries across the UK and rest of the world.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will ideally demonstrate previous experience within the materials handling systems assembly, installation, commissioning and servicing throughout the UK. You will possess a positive work ethic and will have a "take the lead attitude" and ‘can-do’ attitude, showing clear visibility of this to senior management. Ideally you will have the aspirations to successfully lead a job with minimum supervision required, along with the ability to assess the task requirements using your own skills and initiative.

You will be trained to undertake a range of equipment to include preparation, installation and service duties, incorporating mechanical engineering work and to conduct both planned, preventative and reactive site visits to maintain client specific equipment. You will guided until you are capable of meticulously documenting and capturing machine/site information completing in depth written reports from every site visit, feeding back into the business to ensure further opportunities are secured.

Included in your duties will be the assembly and testing of equipment prior to despatch and following equipment through to installation and commissioning stages at client sites throughout the UK. Therefore it is essential that you have a full clean driving licence, a flexible approach and the willingness for overnight stays including occasional weekends.

You will be working in accordance within an agreed schedule and to client requirements. You will be required to carry out the final fit-out and testing of new equipment, including mechanical and basic electrical connection before delivery.

To be considered for this varied, challenging and acting opportunity, it is essential to have the following;

A minimum of C&G Level 3 in mechanical engineering
Completed a recognised apprenticeship
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
IT skills
Ability and competence to undertake basic electrical work when required
Ability to work within a team
Ability to work on own initiative, taking the lead at every opportunity
Self-motivated and highly driven to succeed

Consideration will be given to applicants with a proven track record in a similar role, but previous experience of working in a mechanical maintenance role within the within the materials handling in other environments such as warehouse, food & drink manufacturing and pharmaceutical with the knowledge of conveyors, roller chain systems, shafts and bearings proving distinctly advantageous.
