Our client demonstrates more than 30 years’ experience in the manufacture of bespoke automation and robotic systems for a range of industrial applications, and are regarded as one of the leading automation system solution providers in the UK. As a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Control Systems Commissioning Engineer to complement their established professional team and deliver machine control system solutions allied to a range of automated machinery based projects.
Tasked with commissioning and developing software, PLC & HMI coding for various automation projects, you will also be responsible for the functional operation of machine control system solutions for an array of special purpose automated machinery projects, and for the fault find, modification and service of new and existing control and safety systems at customer locations across the UK.
You will also be responsible for the integration of various robots, including SCARA, Delta & 6-axis and will liaise extensively with customers, suppliers and team members, so effective communication skills at all levels are essential for the position, and you will be comfortable in working both autonomously and as part of a team dedicated to delivering projects within budgetary and timescale constraints.
Other responsibilities will include the development and commissioning of machine control and safety systems and all aspects of machine functionality, ensuring that machine electrical systems and safety system comply with all relevant European and international safety standards and in addition to commissioning activities, also undertaking machine performance testing, Factory Acceptance and Site Acceptance testing as well as providing customer support and assisting with the installation and troubleshooting when required.
To be considered for this varied and challenging role it is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate at least 5 years’ experience of working with PLC software with particular experience of working with B&R, Omron, Siemens and Mitsubishi equipment and in programming and integrating 6-axis robots proving distinctly advantageous, as would knowledge of interfacing to injection moulding machinery.
You will ideally possess an appreciation of electrical design for machine automation, along with knowledge and understanding of the various national and international electrical standards for machine design and machine safety systems and requirements to CE mark machine systems.
