Description: Experienced Senior Multi Skilled Maintenance professional required to coordinate the activities of a busy shift maintenance team within a globally renowned energy solutions provider environment.

Our client has a rich heritage spanning almost 200 years and is recognised globally as a market leading provider of bespoke solutions to the renewable energy and power plant sector. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of structured and strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and self-motivated Operations Shift Team leader to complement their established and successful team.
Based near Sleaford and reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Operations Shift Team Leader will work on a 7am to 7pm 12 hr shift basis and be responsible for ensuring the safe operation and environmental performance of the plant and security of the site, ensuring operation within environmental limits at all times whilst achieving maximum commercial availability, reliability and efficiency.
You will be responsible for the supervision and development of the shift team and for the delivery of both planned preventative and reactive maintenance as well as operational routines and testing to achieve agreed availability and reliability targets, whilst ensuring compliance at all times to relevant site safety rules and procedures and applicable health and safety legislation as appropriate, including the isolation of Mechanical plant and electrical apparatus and associated HV switching up to 11kV.
Liaising extensively will other internal departments, you will be a hands on individual able to undertake general fault find and repair activities whilst both implementing and enforcing HSE policies and both reviewing and developing site operations procedures on an ongoing continuous improvement basis, monitoring plant performance and proactively implementing measures to improve efficiency wherever possible and recording the information on the site CMMS.
Other duties will include ensuring compliance to and testing of the site emergency / abnormal conditions plans and ensuring all plant simulations are managed in line with established procedures. You will undertake recruitment activities for the team as well as staff training and reviews, and provide operation support for all planned outages as required. You will also assist with incident investigations and RCA and create accurate and detailed incident reports where necessary.
To be considered for this varied and challenging role, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will be qualified to at least HND level or above within a relevant engineering discipline and will demonstrate comprehensive practical thermal / process plant operational experience. A full UK driving licence is also required for the position. You will essentially possess knowledge and at least 5 years’ experience of biomass or thermal power plant process, permit and safety systems as well as electrical distribution, protection, switchgear and 33kV HV switching, with knowledge of steam turbine combustion systems, steam cycle chemistry, generators and plant performance monitoring proving distinctly advantageous.
