Our client has been established for more than half a century and specialise in the design and manufacture of an array of electronic solutions for supply to many Blue Chip clients across the globe, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Maintenance Electrician to complement their established and professional manufacturing team.
Reporting to the Senior Process and Development Engineer, the successful candidate will be tasked with undertaking installation work and both planned preventative and reactive maintenance activities on plant and equipment as well as the electrical infrastructure of the manufacturing facility.
You will undertake extensive PPM work in order to minimise machine breakdowns and production downtime whilst maintaining the required level of machinery spares. Additionally, you will perform fault find, diagnosis and repair work on electrical and hydraulic circuits, and will create and retain accurate documentation of failures and repair times associated with equipment.
Other duties will include undertaking plant and equipment installations on site whilst ensuring compliance with relevant Health and Safety and Company regulations accordingly, and ensuring that all members of the team work within a safe environment and comply with relevant H&S, policies and procedures legislation.
To be considered for this varied and challenging role, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will have completed a Mechanical or Electrical based apprenticeship and have attained City & Guilds 2382 (Installation), Testing and Inspection C&G 2394 (Initial Verification or 2391 if undertaken pre 2011) and 17th Edition IEE regs certification, with C&G 2395 (Periodic Inspection and Testing) proving advantageous. Essentially you will be able to read engineering and schematic circuit diagrams, with familiarity of Injection Moulding machines and High speed presses proving distinctly favourable.
Whilst the position has no direct line management responsibility, you will be tasked with training and development of the apprentices as and when required, so an articulate and enthusiastic approach to working both autonomously and as part of a team are essential for the position, as is the ability to prioritise effectively and communicate at all levels within the business.
