Description: Proactive Sales and Business Development Manager required for our established and highly successful anodizing and electroplating solutions specialist.

Our client has been established for more than half a century and specialise in the provision of bespoke anodizing, electroplating, chemical solutions and specialist equipment to customers around the world. As a result of continued success and an ongoing planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit a dynamic, proactive and experienced Sales and Business Development Manager to complement their established and highly successful team.
Reporting to the Group Sales Director, the Sales Manager position is responsible for both driving and developing the sales growth of selective plating services and products in line with the corporate plans and strategy of the business, necessitating the identification and cultivation of new business prospects in commercially attractive new and parallel market sectors relevant to the business as well as proactively maintaining and developing existing accounts and relationships in order to optimise and maximise current and potential future business on an ongoing basis.
Tasked with increasing sales within designated sectors and accounts, the successful candidate will develop sales and new business across the entire product and services portfolio, effectively negotiating and influencing prices and contractual terms in order to ensure optimal margins are achieved and monthly, quarterly and annual targets are both attained and exceeded.
Other responsibilities will include the identification and targeted promotion of the benefits and competitive advantage of the business to relevant contacts, proactively contacting and qualifying significant quotations and providing the highest levels of customer service at all times. You will manage your own diary and appointments (envisaged to realistically be between 6 and 8 appointments each week) and will identify relevant new lead generation initiatives including exhibitions, marketing literature and customer seminars.
The role will suit either an experienced technical sales professional with more than 5 years’ experience who can demonstrate experience gained within a relevant mechanical or chemical engineering environment and who ideally possesses knowledge and experience of plating or surface treatment techniques (although similar technical sales experience will be considered), or alternatively an enthusiastic and highly self-motivated engineer with exceptional communication and influencing skills and with directly relevant experience of working within a metal finishing, surface treatment or plating production environment who aspires to become a sales professional of the future.
