Ref #: PTR08/285 Location: West Midlands Description: Manufacturing Engineer - Industrial Process Development and Optimisation Salary: to £32k plus benefits Our client is renowned globally as a market leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of a range of components for supply to the automotive sector, and as a result of a recent positive restructuring exercise, are urgently seeking to recruit a permanent Industrial Engineer to compliment the existing team of manufacturing professionals.
The successful candidate will be tasked with ensuring that manufacturing Processes and tooling are transferred from the development stage of the project into the industrialisation stage as efficiently as possible in order to meet the targets set by the Customer for Quality, Cost and Delivery at SOP.
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will essentially demonstrate previous experience in the automotive sector, and be able to take concepts and develop them into processes as part of a team of specialists, and follow this through to Process Flow format with support equipment and tools definition available via the Development centre.
You will develop PFMEA and attend non-injection tooling pre-studies, and check equipment and tools specifications in accordance with UK and European regulations and company standards, managing project documentation (project timing plans, budgets etc) and ensuring that tooling / machine trial checklists are completed, and follow up on any outstanding issues before tool launch to toolmakers. You will then attend the pre-production tool trials at the suppliers to ensure Customer targets can be achieved, resolving any issues before going on to develop & implement plant layout and recording any concerns on tooling and equipment which affect design / safety / Quality of the product.
Finally, you will be responsible for monitoring equipment supplier progress, ensuring smooth installation of equipment in plant and performing production trial runs before providing support training of the relevant personnel on any subsequent new processes which are being introduced to the plant, and developing a spare parts lists & TPM schedules whilst ensuring that H&S approval with risk assessments is completed.
To be considered for this challenging role within the fast paced automotive manufacturing sector, you will be able to demonstrate at least 3 years experience in a similar Process / Production / Manufacturing environment and have experience in all aspects of Engineering change, from Initial planning and Approval sign-off through to effective Budgeting, Implementation and Completion sign-off.
