Ref #: PTR08/273 Location: Northamptonshire Description: Senior Design & Development Engineer - Materials Handling Salary: to £35,000 Our client is renowned as a global market leader in the supply of bespoke materials handling solutions for a diverse range of applications, and as a result of continued success and a planned program of strategic growth, the company are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic and self motivated mechanically biased Senior Design and Development professional to coordinate the project activities of their existing team.
To be considered for this exceptional opportunity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development of complex engineering designs from concept through to manufacture, producing detailed engineering design drawings using both SolidWorks and AutoCad 2D and preparing associated specifications and BOM’s to facilitate the manufacture of the product in accordance with relevant standards and utilising off the shelf components where appropriate.
Working as part of a focused team committed to providing highest quality solutions, you will demonstrate exceptional communication skills and a number of years experience gained within a similar product design and development environment allied to heavy industrial or fabrication applications.
Additionally, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of small development projects and ensuring their delivery within time, quality and budgetary constraints, and will be able to demonstrate exhaustive abilities in the associated test, calculation and research necessary during the development of new products to verify the design and component selections. Aside from a proven track record in the design and development sector, flexibility to travel (a passport and driving licence are essential for the role) coupled with a high level of accountability allied to the quality and integrity of work produced is paramount, especially as it directly relates to the safety of the users of the product.
