Successful candidates will ensure the efficient supply of parts, equipment and services and that both direct and indirect contract work and the subcontracting of work is made with due regard to quality, cost and timeliness in the most economic manner in accordance with defined programme requirements, the customer's contractual requirements and the company's purchasing policy, and will work within a division committed to delivering and managing a supply chain that consistently and accurately meets both current and future requirements in terms of business need, specification, value for money, delivery and offset. Core responsibilities for these key positions will include the agreement of contracts with a supply base to acquire goods and services for internal and external customers, on time, within budget, and to the correct quality standard in order to meet the current and future needs of the business, and the negotiation and agreement of new Terms and Conditions and pricing for major equipment and services as well as negotiating settlements of commercial disputes. You will provide the business with a significant level of specialised skills, knowledge and advice to develop and apply an appropriate procurement strategy in a way that optimises commercial advantage for the business and minimises risk, requesting, collecting, analysing and interpreting information collected from an established and potential supply base to support the bid process and subsequent management of the supply chain through the provision of timely and sufficient commercial information. Drawing on your own specialist knowledge and skills, you will make a significant impact on commercial decisions through validation, authorisation, issue and amendment of contracts and will identify risks and opportunities and must ensure that the company’s contractual obligations are met and exposure to risk is minimal. You must therefore build and sustain credible working relationships with all stakeholders to ensure the ongoing development of commercial opportunities for the business, and will demonstrate strong resource management, essential team leadership and team working capabilities within a challenging and demanding environment. To be considered for these exceptional opportunities which genuinely offer stability, job satisfaction and scope for career progression, you will demonstrate a minimum of 5 years experience in a demanding Procurement / Commercial environment and/or MCIPS/Degree qualification with proven examples of Performance Improvement against Core objectives (e.g. cost reduction schedule adherence, lead time reduction etc.). With scope to travel overseas, flexibility is paramount, and the successful candidate must be able to be based within the South West region of England and a full relocation package is available to encourage this.
