Ref: PTR10/1029 Location: East Midlands Description: Experienced and highly capable Technical Manager required to coordinate the activities of a busy and successful systems solutions team. Salary:to £45k plus benefits Our client offers a range of highest quality services that encompass Project Management and Implementation, Consultancy and Software Development to blue chip clients worldwide, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and technically driven controls systems and systems integration specialist to oversee and coordinate a committed and capable team tasked with delivering complex turnkey systems integration project solutions. The successful candidate will demonstrate proven experience in leading sizable technical projects (£2m-£5m) using established and derived systems integration solutions, and will manage the evolution of in-house standard applications to optimise project implementation.
You will Co-ordinate technical standards to ensure projects are implemented in a consistent, cost effective and compliant format and will support the project department to ensure project solutions are the most effective from both a technical and commercial aspect, whilst additionally providing support in the identification of new project schemes at the proposal stage and presenting such schemes to clients.
With genuine scope to progress within the business, you will be tasked with maintaining company-wide awareness of new technology and product developments to drive company innovation forward, whilst being aware of current industry standards and methods (eg BS61508, BS5489 etc), and will be responsible for providing support for the review of FDS/FAT specifications reviews against client requirements and agreed technical proposals.
To be considered for this exceptionally diverse and challenging opportunity, it is envisaged you will be qualified to at least degree level in an Electrical / Controls / Systems Engineering discipline, and will demonstrate previous experience in Hands-on Hardware design (control system / PLC panels, Ethernet switches, Codecs etc) and associated formal structure coding experience (PLC, C, large SCADA packages - FactoryLink, Scope X etc). Additional experience in Turnkey Project implementation roles from design through to on-site implementation and ongoing client support will prove distinctly advantageous.
You will be experienced in the derivation or use of standardised project implementation tools and methods and Real time plant control algorithm & information system design (PID, state machines, expert systems etc), and will be able to quickly understand complex system problems and subsequently identify and communicate solutions, with familiarity of Ethernet integration / video-audio data handling etc (e.g. QoS, Mpeg, H.264 etc) again advantageous.
