Multi Skilled Shift Team Leader - Nottinghamshire - to £32k + ben

Our internationally renowned client specialise in the provision of metal packaging solutions for a diverse range of consumer applications across the globe, and as a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, articulate and experienced Multi Skilled Shift Team Leader to coordinate the activities of an established and successful team.
Reporting to the Department Manager, the successful candidate will manage and organise the shift to ensure maximum efficiencies are achieved in order to meet customer delivery and quality targets, whilst coordinating the work of the Transport and Quality areas through the dispatch coordinator and the QC Team Leader.
You will ensure that the shift works safely and within site health and safety guidelines and will raise any issues observed with the individual or the department manager, whilst observing and promoting all site policies and procedures and at all times adhering to all quality standards and proactively promoting a “Right First Time” approach.
In addition to managing the shift personnel for maximum efficiency with particular emphasis on holidays, absence and all aspects of manpower utilisation including development and training, you will support problem solving activities within the shift to minimise downtime and increase efficiency, and it is envisaged that you will possess a relevant engineering qualification and be able to demonstrate proven electrical and mechanical engineering experience including start up, shut down and both PPM and TPM activities within a busy manufacturing environment.
Other duties will include (but not be limited to) fault finding and coach others to do so to ensure production and quality issues are dealt with on a timely basis, ensuring all equipment is maintained to the standards required to operate at optimum levels to achieve customer driven production needs, and identifying problem areas in production, equipment and processes before investigating such issues and determining appropriate remedial action accordingly as well as adopting a Continuous Improvement approach in all areas including safety, productivity, quality and general housekeeping.
Can you demonstrate the communication skills essential to liaise with both internal and external customers effectively, as well as proven leadership experience and hands on multi discipline engineering skills essential for success in this role? Are you able to identify and implement improvements whilst performing both planned preventative and reactive maintenance duties and empowering and motivating those around you?
