Our client specialize in the design and supply of equipment used in the treatment of domestic and industrial water and wastewater, and as a result of recent positive restructuring and a series of strategic acquisitions that have provided the organisation with recognized trademarks, cutting edge technology and access to new markets including sea water desalination and energy, they offer a complete range of both solutions and products on a Global basis and are seeking to recruit an experienced Proposals (Biological Treatment) Engineer to compliment their existing team.
Reporting to the Clarification Product Manager, the successful candidate will be tasked with preparing water and wastewater tenders, quotations and framework proposals for a diverse range of project values and applications.
The role will entail the successful candidate receiving enquiries and tender documents and agreeing with the Clarification Product Manager on the priorities of bidding. You will then go on to interpret potential customers’ requirements and select suitable processes and products from the company portfolio together with suitable ancillary items, and liaise extensively with the clarification team and external suppliers to establish the costs and key design parameters for the selected equipment.
Additionally you will be responsible for the preparation of tender documentation for submission to the customer, outlining both commercial and technical aspects of the offer, as well as submitting detailed technical specifications and cost schedules for all tenders and submitting to the Process Manager to agree final tender price. You will also review orders technically and commercially and issue an internal manufacturing specification of the equipment being supplied, whilst providing technical back–up for the sales department as requested and attending occasional liaison meeting/site visits with potential clients or suppliers, which may involve overseas travel so flexibility is essential.
To be considered for this varied and challenging position, the successful candidate will demonstrate Biological wastewater process knowledge (SAF & RBC) and a relevant HND/HNC qualification. Essentially you will possess experience gained in Estimating and previous experience of Proposal/Bids/Tenders – ideally within the wastewater sector although this is not a priority. You will be IT literate and demonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team. The ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure and undertake some international travel within the EMEA region will also prove distinctly advantageous.
