Japanese speaking Quality Engineer - to £22k plus ben

Description: Japanese speaking quality professional required to ensure the prompt resolution of technical issues on company products within a busy manufacturing environment.

Our client, a leading automotive manufacturing organisation based in Swindon, is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and self motivated Senior Quality professional to coordinate the activities of a team of Quality Control specialists and to compliment their existing team of engineering professionals.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the investigation of technical issues on company products, which are reported from either the customer or from the UK manufacturing team (including sister companies) to generate a clear understanding of the root cause and establishing temporary / permanent counter measures.
 
Duties will include:
· Analysis of technical issues (Recovered parts/mass production problem/Market warranty data)
· Assessment of the impact of issues & implementation of robust counter measures
· Summarising investigation results in a written report to promote quick counter measures and reporting to both management and the customer
· Issue quality problem reports to the supplier and track their replies
· Monitor Quality problem trends and take Robust C/M before escalation of the problem
· Evaluate suppliers' quality problem counter measure proposals
· Follow up/visit suppliers to confirm counter measure action plans and result
 
 
To be considered for this challenging position, the successful candidate MUST be fluent in Japanese
(essential verbal and written skills), and be able to demonstrate experience of Quality Assurance tools
and techniques.
You will possess excellent MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Power point), a good level of Technical
drawing understanding (both mechanical and electrical) and hands on experience in the investigation
of recovered parts or problems in shop floor. You will adopt a customer orientated approach and a
proven ability to operate cross-functionally at all levels within an organization, with a good
understanding of conventional measurement tools advantageous.
 
Additionally, experience in a volume manufacturing environment, exposure to CATIA or CAD and at
least 2 years experience in Quality Control / Production Engineering / Design environment will also be
advantageous.
