Sales Engineer - Drives & Controls - Southern Region £30k + ben

Salary: to £30k plus company bonus, fully expensed vehicle, life assurance, pension and 31 days holiday plus statutory days

Our client is a market leader in the B2B supply of drives and controls for niche engineering applications, having focussed in particular on the specification of drives, tubular motors and control solutions for more than a quarter of a century and committed to the highest levels of service and exhaustive product range.

As a result of continued success and an ongoing program of strategic growth in the coming years, they are now actively seeking to recruit a dynamic, self motivated and highly enthusiastic sales professional to compliment their established and successful team, and an individual able to demonstrate both proven sales experience in the area of drives and controls as well as the essential communication skills to both business develop and existing account manage across the Southern half of the country.
Reporting to the Sales Director and liaising directly with the Business Development Manager and Northern Area Sales Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for achieving Sales Targets for the designated area, and will need to plan calls and make effective use of time in order to both manage designated house accounts as well as establishing new accounts and maximising business opportunities in both established and previously untapped market sectors, assisting with the launch of new products and using a proven price structure to ensure achievement of required gross margin and preparing sales budgets and reporting on area activity at regular Sales meetings.
 
To be considered for this exceptionally challenging and varied role, the successful candidate will be an experienced Sales Engineer who can demonstrate proven abilities in looking after a designated sales area, enhancing business relationships and maximising sales opportunities and exhaustive knowledge of drives and control systems and solutions for a range of applications. Computer literacy, both mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge (and trouble shooting capabilities in both disciplines) and strong communication and training skills will prove invaluable in this position, and a relevant technical engineering qualification will also be required to support these skills.
 
Commercially aware and capable of building and maintaining strong customer relationships, and used to travelling the southern half of the UK (and able to stay away from home on a regular basis if required), whilst a background in construction or building products would prove to be advantageous, an engineering sales background allied to materials handling systems, drives, conveyors, automation or control sales for other applications will also be viewed favourably. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a target driven and self motivated approach and proven sales negotiating skills and the ability to close the deal.
