The client design, develop, manufacture and market aerospace products allied to both the defence and civil sectors globally, and as a result of continued success and a strategic programme of planned growth for 2009, have created the position of Procurement Contracts Specialist to ensure the achievement of the contract team’s primary objectives allied to the delivery of the latest multi million pound project to a large UK customer.
The role provides an opportunity to build upon your existing Procurement/Contracts experience and make an effective contribution within the Procurement Contracts team, and demands that you provide the business with a professional level of specialised skills and knowledge drawn from your given subject discipline combined with an extensive knowledge of business operations. Your main tasks and activities will include, but not be limited to:
To be considered for this exceptional opportunity, you will have a proven track record of success in the above as well as experience in dealing with commercial contracts and associated issues. This will include experience of negotiating terms and conditions for the supply of goods and services. Additionally, you will demonstrate skills and experience in managing business risk through contracting, and possess a broad understanding of how contractual terms can influence the dynamics of the supply of goods and services. As you will appreciate, effective communication skills, particularly in influencing and negotiation are essential for the position, as is demonstrable contracting experience within an aerospace, defence, material supply or manufacturing environment. You will therefore possess a strong educational background, ideally to degree level in a relevant discipline and /or MCIPS as well as computer literacy in company standards including SAP.
