Field Service / Test Engineer (Multi skilled)

Basic £20k with realistic OTE considering enhancements = £30k

 

Our client is an established and highly successful supplier to the power generation sector, and as a result of continued strategic growth and an ongoing programme of expansion, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and highly capable Field Service and Test Engineer to provide maintenance, installation and commissioning support to customers in both the UK and Europe.

 

Working on a range of standby power and CHP gensets ranging from 500kW to 6.5MW, the successful candidate will be tasked with providing emergency support, fault finding, PPM and repair on a range of company equipment, as well as occasionally being required to supervise sub-contract teams undertaking heavy lifting and overhaul activities on the company product range.

 

To be considered for this challenging position, you will be a multi skilled and qualified (HND minimum) hands on engineer capable of undertaking fault find, diagnosis and repair activities of a mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic nature, with projects ranging from the complete strip down and repair of a gas turbine, component changes on a PCB or PLC Control software fault find, modification and debug on a range of platforms.

 

It is important to note that the role consists of predominantly site and field activities and invariably will mean extensive periods of time spent working away, sometimes at very short notice. Engineers on average will spend periods of up to 4 weeks at a time away from home and will suit only the most flexible of engineers.
