Ref #: PTR08/404 Location: East Midlands Description: Mechanical Designers to work on diverse materials handling solutions using INVENTOR 3D and AutoCad Salary: to £40k plus benefits Our client is recognized as a market leader in the provision of bespoke integrated solutions to the automated handling sector, and as a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, are seeking to recruit experienced Mechanical CAD Design professionals of all levels to compliment their existing team.
Tasked with producing state of the art complex conveyor layouts, design schemes and systems for a range of materials handling applications from concept through to commission, you will generate initial conveyor layouts before developing selected concept layouts through to the generation of manufacturing and installation drawings (including conveyor line arrangement drawings, parts lists and maintenance platforming, crossovers and lifting beams etc), preparing phasing drawings indicating installation sequencing and undertaking site surveys to support these activities.
To be considered for one of these exciting positions, you will possess a relevant mechanical engineering qualification and ideally at least 3 years experience in a similar environment, demonstrating a thorough working knowledge of 3D Inventor (at least to r11) and AutoCAD 2D and have experience of conveyor systems allied to manufacturing, mechanical handling or process environments and working in accordance with ISO9001 regulations.
Candidates will be also be involved in the full project development lifecycle for a range of systems and equipment in line with specific customer requirements, making this opportunity considerably more than simply a CAD “manipulation” role - and successful candidates will relish the challenges and variety they will face and will demonstrate a desire to forge a career working as part of a larger team – so communication skills, enthusiasm, drive and self motivation are essential requirements.
You will additionally be required to undertake extensive liaison with customers and sub-contractors of all levels and regularly undertaking site surveys and visits during all stages of projects from definition stages to system handover, so strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for the position.
