Ref #:PTR08/365 Location: Leicester Description: Control Software Engineer - Concept through to handover Salary: to £40k plus benefits dependant upon experience Our client is an internationally renowned market leader in the manufacture of bespoke control systems for a range of special purpose Gas and steam turbines applications for Blue Chip customers worldwide, and as a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and self motivated Software Engineer who is able to demonstrate relevant experience in this technically demanding arena.
Reporting to the Technical Director, this exciting and challenging opportunity involves theproduction of HMI and PLC software for the control of power industry processes, and will encompass the preparation of detailed functional design specifications, software production and Verification, Factory Acceptance Testing and the provision of Commissioning Support where required.
The successful candidate will be suitably qualified in a relevant discipline (ideally HND level or above) and will demonstrate knowledge and experience in the design of PLC based control systems (ideally Allen Bradley), HMI and SCADA software. Additionally, the successful candidate will have the ability to extract information from specifications and drawings, posses good controls and instrumentation knowledge, be an excellent communicator and be motivated in their work. Power industry knowledge, a clean Driving License and be willing to travel world wide to customer locations would be distinctly advantageous.
